Dr. F. Douglas Witherspoon
Vice President, Chief Technology Officer
Over 30 years of outstanding scientific and technology R&D in fusion, pulsed power and related fields, project leadership and management; Current leader of plasma guns and technological research in PJMIF; 25+ years of entrepreneurship and founder of two companies. 35 publications.
Dr. Andrew Case
Prior to joining HyperJet Fusion Corporation Dr. Case served as a Senior Scientist with HyperV Technologies Corp. Before joining HyperV in 2005, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher on the Maryland Centrifugal Experiment (MCX) at the Institute for Research in Electronics and Applied Physics, University of Maryland College Park. His work on MCX included designing, implementing, fabrication of components and analyzing data from magnetic diagnostics, including magnetic fluctuation probes and diamagnetic loops. Dr. Case received his PhD in plasma physics from the University of Maryland in 2001.
Dr. Samuel Brockington
Dr. Brockington joins HyperJet Fusion Corporation after serving as a Senior Scientist at HyperV Technologies Corp. He has over 10 years’ experience in plasma diagnostics and electronics design for plasma railgun support. Dr. Brockington completed his PhD. with the University of California at Davis working as a Student Employee Graduate Research Fellow at Lawrence Livermore National Lab (LLNL) in 2007. His work at UC Davis/LLNL included developing the deflectometer line-integrated plasma density gradient diagnostic on the Compact Toroid Injection Experiment (CTIX), the upgrade and operation of CTIX, and assisting in the development of the M-spec and Oz-spec X-ray spectrometers. His present research interests include plasma accelerators, plasma diagnostics, and pulsed power design.
Dr. Edward Cruz
Dr. Cruz has many years of research and development experience in multi-discipline technical fields: pulsed and DC electron sources, pulsed and DC plasma sources, high-power microwave technology, coupled oscillator systems, pulsed power systems, advanced materials, circuit design, and computer simulation and modeling. Dr. Cruz has broad interests, with a current focus on Plasma-Jet-Driven Magneto-Inertial Fusion (PJMIF). He has practical experience in systems engineering, project management, business development and CNC machining. Dr. Cruz received his PhD in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2011.
